Job Responsibilities:
Golder is currently seeking an experienced Project Assistant for the Barrie, Ontario office location. At Golder, the Project Assistant will support our Project Managers in their project activities. The responsibilities for a Project Assistant will be established by the Project Manager for each project.

Responsibilities for this individual would typically include:
* Coordinating the development of the project scope statement and Work Breakdown Structure;
* Review RFQ/RFPs for requirements; develop proposal structure and content to address requirements;
* Attend client meetings and lead project status updates;
* Compile, write and edit proposal work plan and costing for PM review;
* Understand and use Earned Value Principles to produce Earned Value Reports;
* Work closely with multiple disciplines to support effective and proactive communication of integrated project schedule needs;
* Preparing and maintaining project schedules and conducting project forecasting related to schedule control;
* Tracking budgets and expenditures and conducting project forecasting related to cost control;
* Coordinating project team communications, written and verbal, and documenting client meeting, interactions and activities;
* Coordinating administrative resources to assist with administrative tasks;
* Maintaining the project risk register;
* Coordinating and monitoring project contracts for sub-consultants, contractors and vendors;
* Plan, coordinate, schedule and undertake all activities related to proposal preparation, from initial kick-off to proposal delivery and post-submission follow-up;
* Prepare Change Orders as authorized by project manager;
* Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others; and,
* Other support activities as required by the project

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
* College or University diploma or equivalent experience;
* Minimum of five (5) years' experience related to project controls in a multi- disciplinary environment;
* Strong knowledge of project management principles and PMI's Body of Knowledge;
* Experience working with MS Project (not required, but an asset) to produce detailed interdependent schedules and network diagrams;
* Exceptional client relations, interpersonal, communication and judgement skills;
* Strong skills in technical minutes taking;
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including experience in Earned Value Analysis and other forecasting models;
* Experience working with multi-disciplinary and multi-national project teams;
* Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management;
* Experience working on projects in excess of $1,000,000 (not required, but an asset);
* Experience in logistics for international projects; (not required, but an asset);and,
* Strong attention to detail.
