WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is currently searching for a wind energy industry veteran to serve as a business coordinator and supervising engineer for wind energy design engineering services. The Candidate will be based in one of WSP's Boston, San Francisco or Denver offices. Other locations may be considered if deemed a strategic fit.

General Purpose:
WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is searching for a highly motivated and experienced wind engineering professional. The position will support WSP | Parson Brinckerhoff's growth ambitions in the renewable energy market. The position will report to the Manager of Renewable Energy in the US in Denver, CO. The candidate would be a part of a Power division operating in simple and combined cycle plants, hydro power plants, transmission & distribution, combined heat and power, distributed generation and renewable energy.

The candidate will serve as a business development lead, a project manager, and supervising engineer on utility scale wind and energy storage projects in the United States. The role will include managing internal staff resources in engineering and planning as well as managing sub-contractors. Duties will include supporting due diligence, and project studies; performing and/or managing engineering services that may include resource assessments, site layout and optimization, environmental, civil and electrical preliminary and detailed design; and managing project resources and budgets. Candidate should have experience managing large capital projects in renewable and/or conventional power generation, including experience in engineering team management and construction management and oversight.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
      • Lead business development for wind energy services in the US through participation in industry events and conferences, meeting prospective clients and developing service proposals
      • Lead preliminary and detailed design engineering projects covering site civil, structural, and electrical disciplines
      • Act as owner's engineer for electric utilities and independent power producers to develop preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and EPC bid materials for wind projects
      • Provide support on independent engineering, due diligence and technical advisory services as needed
      • Assist Manger of Renewable Energy with recruiting new staff, professional mentoring and training
      • Develop and manage key client relationships that exploit the WSP | PB global and multi-disciplinary service offerings
      • Track and participate in external strategic initiatives that contribute to enhancing market presence and visibility among target clients. Represent WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in external engagements by speaking at conferences, participating in technical working groups, and authoring white papers and thought pieces
      • Coordinate with Marketing and Communications to develop and maintain external marketing materials and capability statements relevant to the practice

Job Requirements
Education Required:
      • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering or related field

Experience/Skills Required:
      • Ideal candidate has 10 years' experience in wind power
      • Proven track record of growing and expanding services in consulting engineering
      • Past experience working for EPCs, project developers, consulting engineering services firms, or electric utilities required

Desired Qualifications:
      • Licensed professional engineer strongly preferred
      • Master of Science degree in engineering or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
      • Demonstrated experience with design and project management of utility-scale and/or C&I-scale wind and solar power generation projects preferred
      • Knowledge of wind resource assessment methods and tools is a plus
      • Experience overseeing and managing project teams and staff desired
      • Project Management Professional a plus
