The Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) enables F-35 operators to plan ahead to maintain and sustain its systems over the life cycle of the air vehicle. ALIS provides the IT backbone and capabilities to continuously
capture and analyze the fleet's overall readiness; in support of current and future warfighters across the U.S. services and the world. F-35 ALIS Network Administrators are expected to perform network maintenance and monitoring; firewall maintenance and operations; network appliance maintenance and operations; switch maintenance; network time synchronization; backup/restore/disaster recovery; and user support. Network Administrators perform software and hardware management on the ALIS computer network; which includes controlling; planning; allocating; deploying; coordinating; and monitoring the resources of the ALIS networks. Network administration tasks include but are not limited to:network planning; frequency allocation; predetermined traffic routing to support load balancing; cryptographic key distribution authorization; configuration management; fault management; security management; and performance management. Network Administrators require strong working knowledge of layer 2 and 3 networking along with production and administrative procedures for highly visible Information Technology (IT) enabled Activities. The Network Administrator works with other ALIS administrators onsite and at other sites to provide and ensure complete oversight of the ALIS databases; network; and system. The Network Administrator coordinates with the System Administrator and DBA in determining optimal time or period to perform network configuration changes. The Network Administrator assists the System Administrators in monitoring system performance by verifying traffic transmission occurs to and from the ALIS by the correct means with acceptable performance. The Network Administrator is also proficient with the Lockheed Martin Intranet (LMI) processes and procedures and how they apply to a remote LM network campus. There will also be a clear understanding of LM Corporate Information Security (CIS) Information Assurance and Protection. All ALIS System Administrators are required to possess a current S/SAR
clearance and the appropriate program SAP for the JSF program.
Shift work and deployment to national and international locations may be required in order to support the mission.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.
CompTia Security + or higher is REQUIRED for this position.
Cureent active secret security clearance or higher is required.
2-5 years of directly related experience in network administration and support.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills; both with management and subordinates. • Network Administration skills; to include WAN/LAN Infrastructure & Technology; TCP/IP; Network Topologies; SSL/VPN; Network Switches; Firewalls; Intrusion Detection System; Layer 2 and 3 Networking; IPSec Tunnels; Cable Plant; Encryptors; KVM; both Windows and Unix/Linux systems administration and operating systems; system design; troubleshooting; modeling; NetMeeting; multi-tasking and deadline management skills. The Network Administrator may already possess some of these skills; they are typically developed through a training curriculum or by OJT.
