General Dynamics IT is seeking a Smalls Arms Instructor responsible for the following:
Plans, coordinates, and conducts training and related instructional programs for customer personnel.
1. Conducts training sessions and may assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
2. Coordinates logistics for instruction events, including scheduling classes, reserving classrooms, and preparing workstations.
3. Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
4. May assist in the development and establishment of course content and objectives.
5. May update course documentation as needed to ensure timeliness and relevance.
6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
7. Participates in special projects as required.
Associates Degree, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.
Graduate of Navy Instructor Training Course (NEC 9502) or equivalent (Completion of a civilian (or commercial) formal course of instruction which has been evaluated and certified as a Joint Instructor Training (JIT)/ Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) equivalency by the Center for Professional Development (CPPD).
1-3 years of directly related experience in course instruction.
Armed forces special operations (e.g. USMC Recon, USA Ranger/Green Beret, USN SEAL, USAF Combat Controller, UK or Australian SAS) experience, Law Enforcement Special Weapons and Tactics, or former active duty NECC tour with CAT III/IV shooting experience (three years minimum, six years preferred).
Must meet/pass Navy High-Risk Training requirements as outlined in OPNAVINST 1500.75 series.
Possess valid CPR certification.
Display technical knowledge of the following weapons systems:
M9 Pistol (required)
M4/M16 (variant) (required)
M2 .50 cal (preferred)
M500 Shotgun (preferred)
Position duty requirements include moderate physical exertion - such as long periods standing, walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces - requiring bending, crouching, stooping, reaching, or similar activities in all types of weather conditions ranging from very hot (110 F summer) to very cold (30 F winter). The work requires lifting of items up to 50 lbs., such as tools, small arm weapons and inert ordnance items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as average agility and dexterity. Individuals cannot have seizure disorders, abnormal and uncorrectable near vision, be colorblind, or have substantial hearing loss (hearing aid is acceptable).
Must be proficient in MS Office including MS Word, Excel and Power Point
Must be capable of clearly writing and speaking in English
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to both CONUS and OCONUS locations
