Provide support to the Joint Staff J8/Joint Requirements Office located at the Pentagon for Chemical; Biological; Radiological; and Nuclear Defense (JRO-CBRND). Candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in creating; updating and maintaining data as they relate to the Department of Defense (DOD) Core Architecture Data Model (CADM); DOD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Meta Model (DM2) and Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) using IBM Rational System Architect; Computer Associates ERwin Data Modeler; and Microsoft Office software tools; including SharePoint Workspace. Candidate will be responsible for the visualization of that architecture on a Microsoft .NET-based web portal. Candidate will be able to develop code for Microsoft's Access/SQL Server and understand Integration Definition 1X (IDEF1X) data models. Require expertise with information systems; XML; UML; relational databases; and relational data modeling using Computer Associates ERwin Data Modeler; plus; software development experience using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications; Microsoft .NET (for web applications); and Java applications. Will serve as a technical liaison between GDIT and other contractors with regard to the database design and software upgrades; will be able to evaluate problems with databases and be able to provide solutions in a timely and cost effective manner; will be able to develop database products. Thus; excellent verbal and written communications skills required to elicit technical subject matter expert input; present architecture data and analysis to executive and technical personnel; and convert information into DODAF-compliant architecture data. Candidate must be comfortable working directly in high-profile situations with senior civilian and military personnel. This position requires a motivated self-starter capable of providing direct support to senior program officials with minimal supervision.
1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical training; or work/military experience.
2. Masters Degree preferred.
10-15 years of related systems engineering experience.
Require a System Architect ideally culminating from 10-15 years of system engineering experience that includes IDEF or UML; along with a framework that may include DoDAF; FEAF; and/or TOGAF; experience with logical and physical data modeling and their implementation considered a major plus. Education in systems engineering or computer science along with DoD experience may reduce some of the requirements.
Requires active TS clearance Require database design experience (e.g.; with CADM) to evaluate problems and provide solutions; candidate will be able to evaluate Integration Definition 1X (IDEF1X) data models; as they relate to architecture products. Military experience considered a plus • prefer CBRN defense or CWMD program-specific architecture experience.
