Office of Cyber Security
Call Center Analyst
Position performs as a technical call center analyst that readily contributes to incident response activities as part of a larger team. These activities may include; but are not limited to; identifying; collecting; correlating and analyzing technical information related to the cybersecurity incidents reported by sites throughout a large Federal Civilian Agency. Candidate should be able to demonstrate hands-on; practical and current experience with maintaining incident reports and tickets in an incident or event tracking database. Candidate should possess the ability or be willing to train for analyzing indicators and evaluating the potential impact/threat to the agency; advising other team members as a matter of escalation. This position will require shift work outside of normal business hours for a 24x7x365 capability (and may require on call response; and after hours support; as necessary).
Required Skills: At least two years of practical experience with at least four areas:
ï¿½ Demonstrated experience in working with or in security operations and/or incident response teams
ï¿½ Experience working in a helpdesk or other centralized IT technical assistance environment
ï¿½ Familiar with technical procedures of cybersecurity incident response or other technical response
ï¿½ Takes initiative to understand and master operating systems; applications; and open source tools
ï¿½ Actively contributes to the technical growth of the entire team;
ï¿½ Familiarity with open source cyber security information sources
ï¿½ Knowledge of vulnerability/threat analysis
ï¿½ Seeks out opportunities to increase exposure to many types of technologies; both emerging and mature
ï¿½ Must have excellent writing and speaking skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to persons at all levels from the end-user community to technical experts to executives
ï¿½ Active Q or Top Secret Security Clearance
ï¿½ Strong oral and written communication skills
ï¿½ CompTIA Security+ Certification
Preferred Skills: At least one year of familiarity with any of the following:
ï¿½ Intrusion analysis and detection
ï¿½ Networking protocols or network monitoring
ï¿½ IT troubleshooting
ï¿½ Demonstrates an interest and aptitude for problem solving
ï¿½ Understands basic concepts of computer forensics
ï¿½ Proactive worker that can demonstrate seeking opportunities and challenges in past positions
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; professional training or work experience.
2-5 years of related experience in data security administration.
Candidate must take initiative in providing solutions to problems. Teamplayer with excellent communication skills (written and verbal). • Any SANS; ISC2; CompTIA; Microsoft; Cisco or similar technical certifications • Bachelor•s degree in Computer Science; Engineering; Business Administration; or other related scientific or technical discipline
