Job Description |
The Desktop Support Associate Administrator (DSA) will work as part of an elite and agile team responsible for maintaining and improving system functionality through proactive interaction with the customer; comprehensive understanding of their primary GEOINT exploitation system; and knowledge of the production mission. The successful candidate will provide on-site; on the floor; technical and system administration support through troubleshooting; identifying and isolating issues; conducting root cause analysis; and implementing appropriate solutions to software anomalies as they occur. The SA will actively trouble shoot Operating System (OS) and desktop hardware issues and make corrective recommendations. The SA will demonstrate extensive knowledge of hardware baselines utilized to maintain minimal variations in deployed hardware. The candidate should be able to quickly respond to hardware related issues; resolve on the spot problems (where possible); replicate the issue for internal analysis/diagnosis; and prepare briefings on status of large projects.
The environment may call for periods of 24x7 or on call support.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
The SA shall assist the customer with technical issues; troubleshooting; installation and configuration for all functional areas under current contract for workstations and desktop/service hub hardware which includes:
ï¿½ Calibration of monitors (requires ability to fully differentiate between all colors in the spectrum)
ï¿½ Working in confined spaces with limited light
ï¿½ Repetitive lifting of large and heavy equipment of 50 lbs. or greater
ï¿½ Extended periods of standing and walking/carrying equipment through a large facility
ï¿½ Survey/documentation of various equipment types for inventory control
ï¿½ Installation/Change/Removal of hardware in various desktop and service hub configurations
ï¿½ Troubleshooting of installed/modified hardware to ensure proper system functionality
ï¿½ Collaboration with other teams to achieve full system functionality for all changes and installations performed
ï¿½ Working with a variety of hand tools and limited power tools
ï¿½ Diagnose and rectify desktop issues escalated from desktop administrators.
ï¿½ Diagnose and rectify desktop issues and execute functional escalations to appropriate resources
ï¿½ Support for maintenance and change requests of all user facing devices and systems.
ï¿½ Develop procedures and documentation for managing; deploying and implementing multiple baseline hardware/images and software packages.
ï¿½ Engage other service lanes for remediation of work issues and flow
ï¿½ Provide support for peripheral; workstation and all user facing equipment
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.
0-2 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
