Job Description

Technical Project Manager Working on the Fiber to the Home (FTTH)

Project in Salt Lake City Job Responsibilities Integrating all aspects of day-to-day work including:

• Responsible for all technical related aspect with regards to fiber during construction

• Must understand fiber optic test equipment, OTDRs, Power Meter Light Source and fusion splicing

• Must be able to understand cut sheet diagrams and fiber schematics

• Ensuring needed material are communicated to warehouse for fulfillment

• Ensure field supervisors know what needs to be inspected

• Quality control

• Provide frequent status updates to the master schedule for project tracking

• Ensure that and change orders, re work, or issues is communicated to proper team members

• Reviewing production drawings for accuracy to ensure ordering and installation deadlines are met

• Managing all required correspondence and basic account maintenance requirements

• Ensure that invoices are routed to proper groups for payment

• Collaborating with contractors, client and team members to keep everyone apprised of all developments in real time


1. Associates Degree in a related discipline.

2. Bachelors Degree preferred.


5-8 years of related construction experience.

Demonstrates competency with basic computer functions

• Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Internet research: Google Maps, MSN Maps, Property Assessors, and GIS Maps

• Database programs and simple office management tasks

• Shows an ability to read, understand, interpret construction plans

• Architectural plans (elevations) including: basic symbols, scales, and views

• Engineering plans (site plans) including: basic symbols, standards, and scales

• Displays an aptitude for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

• Business phone skills

• Ability to track and manage multiple accounts/projects

• Faculty for communicating desired goals to contractors and ordering services and materials

• Coordinate projects between vendors and on-site staff

• Aptitude for problem solving and improving or developing new processes

• Capability to work well with a team and perform independently

• Ability to communicate with other team members and departments to create end product

• Communication with Construction Hut Manager on any issues or problems that arise

• Willingness to fully engage with projects and timelines that are set
