Job Description

General Dynamics, Health and Civil Solutions Division is hiring individuals with advanced skillsets in cyber security to develop and operate cyber security solutions for variety of federal customers. GDIT is looking for a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer with a strong technical background in all phases of security to lead a major security team of engineers involved in a variety of enterprise security functions across all disciplines. The senior lead engineer will be responsible for developing solutions; solving complex security issues; and serve as an innovative problem solver helping our client meet all enterprise compliance initiatives. This position offers candidates an exciting opportunity to support a major enterprise security modernization effort that provides rewarding challenges and a chance to help shape the future of Cybersecurity direction for our client. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of and experience with increasing responsibility in Cyber Security program management and demonstrated oversight of functions.

Responsible and accountable for the performance of the entire cybersecurity engineering staff (including subcontractors and consultants).

  • Support documentation of all business and workflow processes in this area

  • Researches; evaluates; recommends; designs; tests; and implements and maintains new security technologies and supporting infrastructure

  • Provides technical consultation in new security systems development; new security package evaluations and enhancements of existing security systems

  • Prepares functional security specifications from which security systems will be procured and implemented

  • Participates in the technical design; development; testing; implementation and maintenance of security systems deployment and enhancements

  • Prepares and maintains technical user guides; standard operating procedures; systems/network documentation and diagrams

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant security technologies as assigned

  • Serves as a technical team or task lead

  • Serves as liaison with various customers (internal and external)

  • Acts as a subject-matter expert to multiple tasks and/or programs

  • Planning; organization; scheduling and progress reporting of various projects

  • Coordinate with proposal development; contracts; pricing and oversee bid completions

  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff and participate in special projects as required

  • Coordinates administrative matters with the COR
Candidates must be willing to submit resumes to be included in the final proposal submission. Employment is contingent upon contract award.


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust Level clearance Minimum Security+ Certification, CISSP or Equivalent Preferred

Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills; be able to work independently and as part of a team; and demonstrated leadership capabilities. Flexibility in daily duties is a component of the position.

8+ years of related experience in data security administration.
