Our client, one of the world’s leading suppliers of instrument panels and cockpit systems with ambitious growth plans is looking for an Engineering Manager to join their international team in the European HQ, based in NRW, Germany.|
Touch Sensor, Glass, Display, clean room manifacturing, bonding, gluing
The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years’ experience working with Displays/Glass Technology, particularly in the automotive industry and speaks fluent English and preferably German as well.
The Display Engineering Manager you will lead a team of internal and external engineers in the development, qualification, optimisation, and production of new process glass and display technologies and equipment for displays and touch sensors in new vehicle models to compete with the like of Tesla and Google.
Responsibility for all display product related topics
Prepare strategic decision concerning the development of automotive display units
Management of the display unit subsystem, with a focus on optical and electrical interfaces (backlight, power supply and interface to the car electronics).
Building up and leading a lab for display testing, especially regarding optical properties of displays and backlights
Coordination of all display relevant topics in a multidisciplinary team
Responsibility for managing development topics and driving developments at subcontractors
Active market monitoring and build of expertise on new technologies in the areas of automotive displays and interaction technologies
Supervise and assist product and system engineers with new displays to ensure that all company procedures and policies and engineering protocol are followed
Direct and assists in research and development of new product design and implementation
Supervise and assist product engineers with new program launches to ensure all program activities meet customer requirements
University degree in mechatronics, electronics, physics, optics or similar
Detailed Knowledge in the area of display technologies, architectures and interfaces
Application related knowledge in human interface technologies
Experience in End-of Line tests for automotive electronics or display integration lines or experience in optical inspection and testing
Fluent English required, German or Chinese language skills is a plus
Can do attitude, problem solving and flexibility are keys for this role
