Job Description:

We are currently hiring for an Automotive Finance ManagerThis is an exciting opportunity within the Ottawa area! Our client is currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team! This is a permanent position within a dynamic work environment. The Salary range for this position is between 80k and 95k based on experience. The Finance Manager Role would be responsible for all areas of accounting and financial reporting for the company. In this position you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to allow for accurate and timely financial NA this role you will be responsible for supervising and managing a staff of 5 people. You will need to be able to confirm your team's work has been properly and efficiently allocated and accurately NA position has a tight deadline work schedule. A multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit support and the creating of financial budgets and forecasts will be NA & DUTIESACCOUNTING

Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
Understands and maintains the cost accounting for factory production activities, including analyses of factory cost results.
Ensures inventory accuracy by maintaining strong inventory controls, procedures, and physical inventory counts.
Oversee Accounts Receivable, Collections and Accounts Payable for the Division
Work with the corporate accounting team to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
Effectively establishes and communicates team members' goals, sets targets and objectives, monitors group progress through coaching and mentoring, timely performance reviews and individual development planning.
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly provincial/state sales tax returns
Interfaces with the Global Controller and Assistant Controller, as well as the Accounting and Credit & Collections teams to ensure that all accounting standards, business policies and controls are continually met.


Leads financial planning and analysis efforts for team to develop and execute annual budgets and financial plans as well as long range financial forecasts.
Provides operational insight into the business, allowing functional leaders and the executive team to better understand and manage the business.
Is able to present a clear, concise analysis and accurate summarization of the business' financial results, including sales, COGS, freight & distribution expenses, SG&A expenses and EBITDA, in comparison to budget and prior year results.
Is able to analyze business risks and opportunities and make recommendations as they affect the financial results of the business.
Collaborates with commercial leadership and product line general managers and drive sales and margin growth in all regions and all product lines.
Prepares and issues monthly financial reports for the executive team, including key profitability issues and solutions related to the business' performance which represent deviations from budge, prior year or attainable levels.
Participates in the design and implementation of ERP & financial systems enhancements


Duties require a business degree with a specialty in Accounting or Finance.
You must have 5 years of relevant experience, and:
Professional accounting designation (CPA -CA, CMA or CGA) is required. Several years of progressive finance and accounting experience ideally gained in a professional services firm/accounting environment.
A mature, professional and confident leader with excellent presentation and communications skills.
Energetic and proactive, always looking for ways to add value to your internal clients and the business.
A high level of competency in accounting practices, project accounting, payroll practice and the preparation and administration of financial statements.
Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to find root causes of problems and implement change.


Experience in managing and supporting a team.
Ability to work well in tight deadlines.
Strong understanding of internal controls and U.S. GAAP.
Experience in a factory manufacturing environment.
Experience in dealing with a publicly traded company.
