The position Build world class programs and event experiences to help companies grow Helping businesses be more successful, and especially helping them grow, is the core mission of the Chamber of Commerce. This role has the unique responsibility to build the Chamber's programming strategy, and then bring it to life. The Program Development Innovator delivers ground-breaking programs like the Chamber's new Innovation Accelerator Program, and the CEO Peer Mentoring program, for growth-focused entrepreneurs. This is a role with huge potential to create. What it looks like for youYou are constantly scanning the world, reading articles looking at best practices. You are plugged in to Calgary's business scene; highly news-literate and current affairs oriented, with a finger on the pulse of key business issues. You will spend much of your time speaking to businesses, understanding their challenges, and developing new programs to tangibly address those issues. To make this happen you must establish and directly cultivate relationships across a wide range of stakeholders; entrepreneurs, trend-setters, sponsors, speakers, policy experts, VIPs and politicians. You'll also have the opportunity to bring those ideas to life. You will be responsible for developing, delivering and improving the Chamber's 4 existing program streams as well as researching and launching new ones. You will also be responsible for developing and managing a pipeline of top-quality speakers for over 60 chamber events per year. You will work very closely with the Event and Conference team to help make the Chamber's overall program of live experiences the best they can possibly be. You plan far in advance, you are creative but highly-organized, your time horizon is 9-18 months for new programs and top speakers.
