The senior level system administrator is responsible for the day to day support, maintenance, operation and monitoring of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual also actively participates in systems and infrastructure design and related projects. Ensuring a high level of system performance and availability is key factor in their daily responsibilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
Evaluate and provide recommendations on software, hardware and systems ensuring a strategic fit
Monitor systems for performance and take remedial actions as necessary to ensure ongoing system availability
Contribute in the design and implementation of systems and infrastructure topologies
Participate in the design and maintenance of Active Directory
Maintain data security through user access controls and permissions
Operate in compliance with procedures to support and comply with privacy laws and other such regulatory acts
Partner with and contribute ideas in support of the DFG IT Security
Support and maintain an enterprise level backup strategy
Work with other IT professionals and team members to provide solutions and expertise to DFG staff
Implement and support the corporate Disaster Recovery Plan and make recommendations regarding system and data recovery policies and procedures
Install and support various departmental server applications for the user community
Proactively monitor and respond to system critical alerts and performance issues
Maintain general system health and software updates in a proactive and timely manner
Flexibility to work out-of-hours accordingly and in response to emergency situations.
Two-year technical certificate or Associates' Degree in computer studies. Microsoft Certification (MCSE) is required.
The ideal candidate would have roughly 5 years of senior system administration experience.

Excellent verbal and hand written skills
Self-motivated and effective team player is a must.
