Job purpose
Based around the Leeds City Region, the Career Coach will be responsible for providing our young customers with an induction into the Interserve #LIFEGOALS programme ( NA ) and undertaking robust initial assessments and diagnostics that will result in a high quality individual learning plan with progress reviews and exit interviews.

Career Coaches will provide individual and continuous support with high quality information, advice and guidance including a combination of personal planning, mentoring, coaching, counselling and on-going one to ones. Career Coaches will work with customers to build independent learning skills, employability skills, potential and resilience.

Career Coaches are ultimately responsible to get all participants into one of the following progression outcomes:
• Employment;
• Unpaid Employment;
• Education;
• Apprenticeships; or
• Traineeships

Knowledge skills & experience
We are looking for caring, motivating and supporting candidates who have the passion, drive and enthusiasm for making a positive impact whilst working closely with young customers throughout their development journey, with the following experience as a minimum:
  • Relevant NVQ Level 3: Information, Advice and Guidance or equivalent
  • Level 2 in Key Skills Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
  • IT Skills
  • Knowledge of local authority provisions or equivalent
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring young people
  • Knowledge and experience of assessment and training tools
  • Ability to manage your own time and caseload
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Previous experience within a Key Worker/Learning Mentor/Case Manager role
  • Proven achievements of sourcing and closing new business opportunities
  • Proven evidence of working and meeting KPIs and targets
  • Experience within a target driven environment
  • Solutions focused approach to problem solving
  • Proven evidence of working and meeting KPIs and targets
  • Experience within a target driven environment
  • Experience of supporting young people into employment, Apprenticeships, Traineeships or full time education
