Premium Resourcing are actively seeking a permanent, full-time Robotic Process Automation Manager with experience in the financial sector on behalf of a very well established and highly regarded client.

Based primarily in their Manchester office (with occasional travel to other locations within the north west), this role is to plan, organise and lead a team of expert business Delivery Managers and Technical Specialists to guide and implement strategic and tactical change to IT Systems within their span of control to enable major areas of the business to achieve agreed business goals.

The role involves the management of a team responsible for delivering activity on initiatives, projects and programmes relevant to IT systems and processes.


• Basic salary circa £55k (negotiable for the right candidate)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Strategy and design of the IT systems within span of control
• Manage the use and effectiveness of change controls which are established for all IT system enhancement
• Design, monitor and champion the use and effectiveness of the IT Operational Design and IT stakeholder Engagement Model
• Establish ownership, clear roles and responsibilities to ensure business expectation is realised and managed effectively
• Prioritise workload, monitor cost and benefit analysis to enable informed decision making to realise maximum ROI against cost
• Encourage feedback from all business areas to identify best practice for all future developments
• Attend external meetings and forums with existing and potential third party suppliers to support all future change delivery
• Manage day to day relationships with third party suppliers, consultant workload and consultancy budget
• Business Continuity Plan established and managed to reduce/avoid impact to service for systems, customers and stakeholders
• Lead the team for the overall function, determination of current and future business needs and customer requirements and identify, agree and evaluate the services required and/or the innovative solutions to enable the achievements of the business plans (90 day)
• Qualifying all requests for change to negate any unnecessary spend to ensure maximum ROI
• Ensure the area keeps up to date in areas of expertise and identify and oversee strategic benchmarking activities in order to be industry aware and able to take account or advantage of new developments

In a highly visible role involving significant stakeholder management activities, the successful candidate will;

• Lead a population of 15 specialist IT analysts, developers and test leads, external contractor resource, Third Parties and seconded resources on a project by project basis within a virtual team or federated model
• Manage IT systems and applications with an average of 5 million accounts and £3m in automated processes, secured and unsecured lending, managing significant system changes and strategic projects per year
• Recovery of 100% of costs from project budgets
• Provide specialist guidance and advice to direct reports
• Must be able to work across several major occupancies
• Deliver to the agreed IT service levels and budget for all systems within span of control
• Maximise the capability of the IT systems within span of control
• Guarantee adherence to operating model and governance framework for all IT system change and development
• Effectively coordinate and manage the contingency and disaster recovery arrangements for all IT systems within span of control

Skillset and experience required:

• Experience of automated processes is key; you must have led and driven continuous improvement processes before
• Significant experience as a People Manager; you will be responsible for the management of 15 developers and test analysts
• Process re-engineering experience
• Strategic planning and organisation skills, with a proven track record
• Confidently challenge processes and procedures to ensure maximum ROI through automation
• Awareness of relevant systems within IT and the role they play in the business and customer journey
• Ability to deal with multiple issues in relevant specialist area including the systems within the team's control
• Proven experience in a management position in an IT or operational business environment
• Extensive understanding of company strategy, objectives and key result areas
• Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, demonstrated by interactions with key stakeholders
• Ability to work with a diverse range of people and cultures at all levels
• Experience liaising with senior stakeholders, and dealing with third parties, e.g. IBM
• Expert planning and problem solving skills
• Understanding of commercial, finance and legislative requirements within a risk appetite
• Substantial understanding of the wider aspects/implications of problems and issues and address them with minimal supervision
• Track record of adding substantial value
• Understanding of relevant regulatory issues and constraints
• Ability to identify and manage resources to effectively deliver system enhancements
• Ability to assess impact of changes and filter information
• Understanding of blue prism desirable but not essential
