My client is looking for an individual to take overall accountability and responsibility for the development and delivery of best in class Desktop Operations infrastructure management and support, Service Desk and Mobile Field Services.
You ll be a member of the IT Operations leadership team and the successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the strategy and running of the IT Operations department, driving strategic change across the whole department, and acting as a senior IT Operations ambassador to the rest of IT.
You ll need to develop and drive appropriate governance to manage risk and ensure successful delivery of all services and projects whilst involving key stakeholders. Also monitor, report and promote regularly to key stakeholders including IT Operations leadership team & IT leadership team, performance relative to service commitments. Engage and enthuse key stakeholders by communicating clearly on strategic plans and service roadmaps, setting realistic expectations and delivering on those promises
Key Skills required:
Extensive experience and proven track record leading and managing IT Operations, EUC support functions in senior roles, ideally within a Tier 1 organisation, including but not limited to Desktop Operations, Executive Support, Access Management, Service Desk and Mobile Field Services.
Significant experience of leading and managing large technical IT teams (50+ FTE)
Need to possess excellent problem solving skills and the ability to own the issue and bring in the correct team to achieve prompt resolution
Extensive experience of incident and problem management including 3rd party service providers
Experience in process
Ability to drive significant cost savings via process, knowledge, automation and other techniques
Capable of managing a range of concurrent initiatives
Strong financial and budgetary experience including business case preparation and presentation
Broad operational understanding of multiple standards and tools; ITIL preferably V3 Expert qualified
Educated to degree level of external industry experience
