Product Engineering Manager

The PE Manager is responsible for the management of the Product Engineering function, this entails working closely with the IT Director and Head of Project Office to ensure that allocated work is completed to quality and budget.

Job Description:
Liaise with the Project Office to ensure successful delivery of client implementations
Provide estimates of effort and delivery timelines for client implementations
Lead daily activities of the team including initiation, on-going project update/support
Ensure all processes are delivered using a consistent best practice approach
Co-ordinates follow-up with relevant departments post implementation
Ensure the team are all working to project delivery timelines
Provides support for the Project Office Team as appropriate
Ensures that the project is running to established timescales and estimates
Communicates critical issues and risks to appropriate stakeholders
Tracks time and costs spent by project and tasks undertaken
Assist in client facing meetings, planning and face-to-face project meetings as required

Person Specification:
Previous experience of development in Agile environment
Proven ability to operate in client facing meetings, with contacts at all levels of seniority
Proven capability to successfully deliver websites and branding within timescales
Proven capability for task management
PRINCE2 qualification (or similar) would be an advantage
Understanding of W3C standards
Microsoft (url removed) and .NET Framework & Microsoft (url removed) experience
Microsoft SQL/Server 2008 (and 2012), including stored procedures and views, and IIS v6 or v7 (minimum of five years)
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2012 Professional (preferred) or older versions with demonstrable progression

Qualifications and Skills
Degree in numerate or IT discipline, minimum grade 2.2 or relevant experience
Excellent communications - both written and verbal
Past man management experience of at least a team of 3+ people
Overseen and delivered previous client website developments
Ability to work under time constraints essential
Adaptable and flexible team player
Ability to prepare and conduct formal presentations
Ability to build strong relationships with other internal departments
