Managing Quantity Surveyor |
£55k - £65k plus car allowance, pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday.
Our client are leading construction group specialising in building, with a positive forward order book and key client development plans for 2017.
As a result of expansion and the planned increased work load the business is recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to compliment the commercial team. Covering the North West region the individual will be responsible for the commercial management of a number of multiple projects, ensuring that all commercial processes and procedures are followed.
•Provide commercial support to estimating to cost alternative planning layouts and to maximise value engineering opportunities
•Management of a team of QS consisting of trainees, AQS and QS of differing levels
•Key sub-contractor management where necessary
•Accurately predict monthly cost and value for each contract
•Maximise value recovery through the QS team
•Minimise cost expenditure centrally
•Liaise with all departments on commercial issues.
•Attend key design team, value engineering, internal project review & external Client meetings as required.
•Responsible for on-site QS activities, maximising profit and minimising exposure to risk whilst ensuring company departmental procedures are followed
•Ensuring accuracy of and reporting of project turnover/margin forecasts
•Support and advise site team on contractual matters, including collation of any subsequent claims.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes.
•Suitable Commercial experience in Construction or affiliated projects
•Experience of identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
•A good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
•Excellent communicator (written & verbally with clients, colleagues and the public)
•Management experience of at least 5 years at MQS or Commercial Manager level
•Good organiser & ability to prioritise
•Full Driving licence
•Degree, or equivalent experience ( Construction Related)
