Our clients are a leading Mechanical & Electrical and Engineering contractor operating across a diverse range of industry sectors with a proven track record of successfully delivering technically challenging, highly complex projects. Due to recent growth, they are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Merseyside.|
-To have commercial input in to both specific project and/or multiple projects including lump sum, target cost, reimbursable and day book at our St Helens Office or site
-To commercially deliver projects of varied commercial value with the support of the Senior Quantity Surveyor and/or Commercial Manager to ensure that the overall company margins are met.
-Responsible for preparing, submitting and agreeing Interim valuations, variations, final accounts, sub-contract payment certificates, cost value reconciliations, star rates and associated star rate register, clients cost reports
-Contractual notices in conjunction with Project Managers and Project Planning Engineers.
-Progress reports as and when required for Project Engineers, Project Managers and Directors using of a range of internal spreadsheets and databases including Sage 1000, our internal timesheet system and be responsible for monitoring the following:
-Sub-contract costs against allowances, labour allocation sheet, internal daybooks to ensure that costs are controlled, labour, material, plant, staff and prelim costs.
-You will require knowledge of contract law, and be versed in the following forms of contract as a minimum: NEC Options A & C, ICHEME Red, Green and Burgundy Book. You will use your effective communication skills to provide the highest standards of commercial guidance to project teams, ensuring that the project team is always fully informed of the current project commercial status and offer any suggestions or improvements.
Skills & Experience:
You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of providing commercial support to projects within the Mechanical and Electrical engineering and construction environment; although electrical experience is not essential it would be advantageous to potential candidates
