We are working alongside a West Yorkshire based (Leeds) civil engineering contractor whose workload is predominantly within the UK infrastructure market where they operate as a successful design and build contractor. To help facilitate their continued growth they require the services of a Working Foreman who will be flexible enough to take on a national portfolio of projects, some of which that may require working unsociable hours or indeed some stay aways during the week. Ideally you will be based within commuting distance of the office as that will be your base of operations.

The purpose of the role is to take the management of sub-contractors away from the day to day tasks of the Site Managers allowing them to focus more on permits, H&S, materials, etc... As the company works on large and small jobs the view is that on a larger job your role will be to manage the Supervisors who may be responsible for up to 15 or 20 men between them whereas on a smaller job it might be a case of having to 'jump on' with the team to speed up production.

Due to the nature of the role it is expected that any prospective candidates will come from a 'trades' background and have a significant understanding of construction techniques within the civil engineering industry. As well as being a civils contractor they also manage specialist subbies including M&E installers, façades, groundworks, concrete and RC, etc... Any experience of the rail industry would be an advantage.

In terms of character we're looking for someone who; can be firm without causing tension between the teams and the management, is prepared to travel throughout the UK, is happy to 'jump on' the tools when required, who is pro-active in their approach, who isn't afraid to ask questions when they don't know something, and has the broad range of experience to effectively manage any trade on site.

If you are interested in this role please forward your CV and you will be contacted by the relevant consultant.
