Technology Manager required for an established organisation undergoing a strong period of growth. This role requires substantial proven experience within the cement, concrete or construction chemicals industry.

The position would be part of the Group Senior Management Team and is expected to cover and act across the global business.

As the Technology Manager your duties will include:

- Owner of Group technology programme and resources
- Technical specifications and changes
- Identifying new opportunities based on market needs. Demands and managing the development of new products and services
- Leadership of the Group technical resources; set objectives, monitor performance, provide support, develop team to full potential, determine current and future resource needs
- Manage the internal development laboratories, including all HSE and legislative aspects, including CE marking, WRAS approvals
- Responsible for maintenance of product technical data sheets and product safety data sheets, as well as compliance with company and statutory labelling requirements
- Vetting technical and marketing literature
- Training internal and external staff in the technical aspects of the company`s products and services
- Coordinate new product launches in conjunction with the Commercial Team
- Provide support to the production and operations team, through e.g. QC corrections, mixing instructions, manufacturing methods, packaging processes, identification and evaluation of alternative raw materials / suppliers
- Responsible for customer complaints system, carrying out comprehensive investigations and implementing appropriate corrective/ preventative actions
- New product development
- Contact with external parties, including universities, test houses, quality management institutions
- Handle external telephone / mail technical queries

Key Areas of Responsibility:

- Compliance with all statutory and group HSE requirements
- Technical support to sales staff
- Technical support to customers
- Technical support to operations and supply chain
- Manage the laboratories and all technical aspects of quality control
- Coordinate legislative compliance, e.g. CE / EN, ISO9001

To be a successful Technology Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

- Graduate or equivalent in materials science, chemistry, civil engineering
- Substantial proven experience within the cement, concrete or construction chemicals industry
- Practical, 'hands-on` experience in developing and scaling to commercial success numerous products initially from a laboratory environment
- Demonstrated business and leadership skill, building and managing successful teams
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally according to business needs
- Excellent communication and team building skills, with an ability to listen, teach, understand and maintain high moral and ethical standards
