Job Purpose - Technical lead able to deliver powertrain attributes through the Vehicle functions

Roles and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

The Application Engineer is the technical PWT point of contact for the Vehicle functions. He needs to have skills to appropriately manage the request addressed to the PWT Team and a strong leadership to propose the response and solutions outside the Team.

The successful candidate needs to have a good knowledge of following items:

  • Base Engine
  • Driveline (Transfer Case, Drive Units, Shafts, Breathers)
  • Transmission
  • Cooling Systems (High Temperature, Low Temperature, Driveline, Engine Oil)
  • Exhaust Systems (Hot End, Cold End)
  • HVAC (Ducting, A/C Lines, Sensors)
  • Heat Shields
  • Fuel System
  • Air Induction System
  • Powertrain Electronics (ECUs, Calibration)
  • Responsible for overall Powertrain Mass, ensuring CAD mass data is present

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MoS or PhD in Engineering or related field
  • Recent experience in system engineer role
  • Demonstrated experience to work in cross-functional teams and driving product development issues to a resolution
  • Significant experience in automotive engineering
  • Knowledge of project life cycle management from early R&D to series production
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, eager to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of Hybrid powertrains system functionalities and attributes at vehicle, system and component levels
