Reporting to the SVP, Head of Claims for Canada, the Head of Accident and Health (“A&H”) Claims is responsible for the technical and managerial oversight of the A&H Claims team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and providing financial authority on claims files;
  • Ensuring the posting and maintenance of appropriate file reserves;
  • Reviewing and developing policies and procedures for the efficient handling of claims and ensuring adherence to them;
  • Working with North American and global A&H Claims partners to ensure appropriate and consistent handling of claims;
  • Conducting qualitative reviews of claims handling within the department;
  • Working with underwriters, actuaries, and other internal stakeholders by providing key information on claims files, accounts, and trends and providing support for underwriters in renewing and attracting new business;
  • Working with brokers and clients to resolve claims and being the main spokesperson for A&H Claims in the market;
  • Leading the entire A&H Claims team and developing employees to be able to fulfill their potential.
  • We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in managing a claims team with a focus on A&H claims. A fluency in French is an asset but not required.
