Design Engineering consultancy working in the water sector.

Our client has a requirement for an Electrical & Instrument Commissioning Engineer to work on a waste water treatment plant in Oswestry. They require 1 commissioning engineer. It’s a 6-8-month minimum term contract with the potential of future work. Candidates must have ideally had profibus experience (desirable) and have relevant experience in the water industry sector.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Due to increased work load in our water section of their business our client requires an experienced Commissioning Engineer is required to work as part of our specialist water team based in Oswestry. The key purpose of the role will be to facilitate the commissioning of control systems and water related instruments and equipment, and undertake required paper work to support this role. Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Manage all contract work assigned to the role, in particular, maintenance, repair and installation works in a professional and business-like manner, ensuring that deadlines are achieved, within agreed budget and to the satisfaction of the client.

Ensure clear planning schedules are drawn up for all contracts and agreements showing key deadline dates, tasks to be undertaken, staff numbers involved and associated budget costs.

Close liaison with clients on all matters relating to contracts, agreements, tenders and other related issues ensuring that high levels of customer service are maintained and communication lines are clear.

Monitor the performance of sub-contractors to ensure that work is carried out to the required standard.

You must be able to demonstrate significant experience of M&E contracting and/or have significant experience of commissioning in the Water Industry.

Experience all types of level pressure and flow Instruments, profibus (ideally), telemetry systems, equipment and automation controls.

Essential Experience:

You should as a minimum hold an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Good commercial judgment together with strong leadership and good team building, delegation and motivation skills are required.
