Working directly for the Contract Manager, the continuous improvement engineer role key objectives relate to their involvement in lean initiatives.
The continuous improvement engineer provides support to the contract manager and works with other operations team members, such as industrial engineers in the following areas and operational focus points to deliver a competitive advantage within their industry:
CI Engineer must have innovative ideas, creative thinking and people skills. The fundamental purpose of this position is to consistently improve the functioning and overall efficiency of a business in key areas. The essential job duties include recognizing problem areas, developing improvement plans, executing those plans, providing assistance for employees and analyzing results.
Must be able to recognize the problem areas of a business, identifying inefficient practices, poor organization and ineffective policies.
CI Engineer will develop tangible improvement plans prioritising problem areas and will be responsible for delivery against the plans
CI Engineer will provide assistance to employees in the form training courses or briefing sessions to ensure employees are up to speed with proposed initiatives and company improvements.
Focuses on customer need and satisfaction; sets high standards for quality, monitors and maintains quality and productivity, works in a systematic, and orderly way; consistently achieves project goals, having good commercial awareness.
Takes responsibility for actions, projects and people; takes initiative and works under own direction; initiates and generates activity and introduces changes into work processes; makes quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks.
