Fantastic opportunity for a Document Control Manager who has had previous large scale engineering construction experience.

Permanent role based in Cheshire



  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Project Directors to develop and manage the document control functions across a large Nuclear New Build Project (Mechanical / Piping)
  • Ensure that the control of Project documentation is carried out in line with the Company Quality Procedures and Design Guides with regard to logging, copy and distribution, storage (electronic or hard copy), document transmittals, revision control and drawing / document register;
  • Liaison with project management, discipline engineers, procurement and alliance partners to ensure that the document control requirements of the Project are met;
  • Represents the interests of all interactions with the client, concerning document management;
  • Ad-hoc document management duties as directed by the Project Manager to assist the project team;
  • Assist the Project Manager and / or the Project Engineer as and when required; such as producing written documents and reports on document status;
  • Ensure all document templates used conform to the Electronic Document Management System. (EDMS)




  • Work with Global IT and Project Directors in developing and setting up a Project Central Filing System (CFS)
  • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing project documents are registered and that documents are communicated via the correct channel
  • Facilitate the introduction of ProArc document management system for the Nuclear Projects
  • Act as the responsible individual within BPT for the ProArc document system;
  • Work with Project Directors and Commercial Leads in managing the document management through Client CEMAR (Commercial Documents) system
  • Manage the interface with Execution Design (PDMS) and Fabrication Workshops (Piping Manager)
  • Ensure that all documents are produced, stored and communicated
  • Act as the main contact between UK and Client Teamcenter Document Management System
  • Ensure that all documents received from customer and 3rd parties are stored and distributed in accordance with procedures;
  • Liaison with customer representatives or other 3rd parties in the control and distribution of documentation;
  • Control the archiving of all required project documentation, both electronic and hard copies.
  • Manage the Project Standards Library (National and International) for all Projects



Good level of proven experience of project and functional document control within relevant process industries.

Evidence of Project Support Software – MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, EDMS (eg. Access, Documentum), AutoCAD



General level of education to Higher Grade level.



Higher level qualifications or equivalent in City & Guilds or ITC
