Position Description We are seeking an Estimating Engineer to join the Estimating Services Division of the Project Management Office Department. The Estimating Services Division is responsible for providing estimating services to Saudi Aramco capital and noncapital projects through the project life cycle from inception to funding and post funding. Your primary role is to prepare, review, and endorse estimates during all stages of the project. These functions are related to the project estimated cost in support of the Company's Capital Program. Develops multidisciplinary conceptual and definitive estimates for heavy industrial, commercial, and residential capital projects including cost aspects of engineering, material/equipment, and construction. Minimum Requirements The successful candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management from a recognized and approved program. You will have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in estimating and constructing major civil infrastructure projects including at least 3 years devoted to site preparation and site development, including underground and above ground utilities, soil improvement, structural steel, concrete buildings and pilling of major petrochemical projects. You must be familiar with industry recognized organizations for estimating tools. You will have technical knowledge and familiarity with relevant international standards and specifications. Ability to read and understand drawings and project documents. You will have experience in project management including all project phases such as Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. Proficiency in English and having the required level of technical writing and communication skills. Ability to understand contracting languages. Alternate: An engineering degree with 10 years of experience in estimating including at least 5 years concentrated toward heavy industrial capital projects. Must be familiar with construction practices, materials, and equipment. Must have the ability to communicate fluently in both spoken and written English. Duties & Responsibilities You will be required to perform the following: Provide overall estimating technical expertise in support of capital projects. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in resolving cost estimating issue for supporting the capital projects and programs. Analyze and evaluate commercial and technical proposals submitted by project management teams or contractors. Discuss, coordinate and resolve estimating problems with personnel throughout the Company and with contractor organizations. Prepare multidisciplinary conceptual and definitive cost estimates for Saudi Aramco capital projects. Mentor and support the review of cost estimates prepared by junior level estimators to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work. Assist Senior Estimator, project management, and contracting personnel with bid analyses and contract negotiations. Participate in the analysis of major capital projects to plan the most cost effective execution in light of experience and current industry practices. Perform a complete analysis and cost validation using internal and external benchmarking data, historical indices, and component benchmarking. Utilize computer-estimating applications and other solutions in support of developing cost estimates to different levels of accuracy. About Us The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company's new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company's Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
