In the context of our present growth, we areseeking to fill a position as IndustrialElectrician , based in Steinbach, MB.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance andValidation, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring thecontinued safe operation of electrical systems and equipment by carrying outelectrical repairs, calibrations, and maintenance. Duties include:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electroniccontrol systems having inter-related circuits such as PLCs, transformers,controllers, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, orconduit systems related to production and packaging equipment.

  • Use test instruments to diagnose problems, work from blueprints,drawings, layout or other specifications to locate and diagnose trouble in theelectrical system and equipment.

  • Calibrate production and facility instruments.

  • Design, source, install and modify equipment controls as required.Rebuild, re-design and modify existingequipment to meet production requirements, including PLC’s, timers, and VFD’s.

  • Perform equipment qualifications as required and assist with the technicalwriting of qualification / validation documents regarding electrical equipmentand services.

  • Maintain and update electrical drawings for validation, equipmentmanuals, and as-builts.

  • Compile and maintain all information and documentation relevant tomaintenance and calibration programs.

  • Collaborate with Parts Coordinator to maintain electrical suppliesinventory as well as specify, source and select electrical equipment, VFD’s,motors and machine controls.

  • Consult with external vendors and OEM to quickly resolve equipmentissues and promote continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial andlocal Department of Labour Standards, safety regulations, good manufacturingpractices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience : Industrial Electrician (RedSeal) certification; Electrical or Instrumentation Technologist with Manitoba Mlicense will be considered; 3-5 years’ experience with maintaining andtroubleshooting machine controls within a manufacturing environment.

    Knowledge : Equipment control and automation systems, PLC’s(Allan Bradley/Rockwell), variable frequency drives, process controls, andcontrol network; understanding of pharmaceutical requirements, cGMP, Workingknowledge in Microsoft Office.

    Competencies : Strong interpersonaland communication skills with the ability to engage with individuals across alllevels of the organization; must be able to handle multiple concurrent projectsand work in a fast paced environment; self-motivation and pro-activity arerequired.
