Pivotree is looking for a Network Engineer to join our growing Systems Engineering Team. You will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing infrastructure platforms for Pivotree and Pivotree’s hosted customers.
The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, operation, evolution, and maintenance of all aspects of the company’s network technologies supporting production and internal operations. The Network Engineer plays an integral role in the department’s planning, development, and future growth.
Responsibilities Include: Design network, security, & storage infrastructure to maintain Tenzing’s infrastructure Ensure the operational stability of the network Diagnose & troubleshoot complex network issues Provide level 3 and 4 support for any network or security issues, including escalations from the Operations team Participate with the team in change & incident management processes. As well as, provide root cause analysis for service distributions Investigate possible security breaches as part of the incident management team Maintain a comprehensive level of documentation that reflects the current network environment Perform installations, configurations, maintenance and operations of any new or existing network infrastructure devices to support the Pivotree environment Work with multiple teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks or other network configuration issues Coverage and throughput planning for networks including the appropriate network architecture and structure Provide some on-call responsibility for Priority 1 critical issues Provide guidance on other technologies & evaluate their impact on the network infrastructure
Qualifications: 5+ years professional experience as a network engineer or equivalent position 3+ years professional experience with large enterprise and/or service provider level networks Extensive knowledge of layer 2 – 3 network technologies (Netflow, 802.1x, BGP, VRRP, VRF, MSTP, STP, LACP) Exposure to Spine Leaf networking topology Cumulus or Pluribus knowledge considered an asset Juniper MX, EX, QFX hardware Cisco CCNP / CCIE would be considered Firewall security & administration Juniper SRX or Fortinet platforms ScreenOS (ISG/SSG) experience considered an asset Fibre channel switching on Brocade platform knowledge considered an asset Openstack platform knowledge considered an asset Ansible experience considered an advantage
