Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently bidding for a major oil and gas project with ADNOC which is expected to be awarded in July / August. If successful, we would be looking to hire an PMC Senior Instrument and Control Engineer to join our PMC team in Abu Dhabi. This project is expected to run for a period of 4 – 5 years. Below are some key responsibiities and duties;

  • Direct and supervise a team of relevant discipline engineers
  • Responsible for providing expertise and ensures the application of correct standards in all FEED / EPC deliverables in the design and development of projects associated with Oil and Gas processing, production and export
  • Supervise the work of relevant discipline Engineers and Superintendents and ensure that quality and standards are maintained, and cost-effective solutions are adopted
  • Fully understands the COMPANY HSE policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility
  • Ensures that work under his control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner
  • Design and check all Instrument work on project
  • Execute assigned work in accordance with the applicable Project Procedures, DDI and Standards, including Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man-hour and cost budgets and the project schedule targets
  • Prepare instrument index
  • Develop data sheets, instrument sizing, and prepare material requisitions for all instrument items including Control Valves, Relief Valves, Flow elements, Level instruments, Temperature instruments, Analyzers and DCS / ESD / F&G systems
  • Manage Technical Bid Evaluation of all items
  • Review other discipline drawings such as Equipment datasheet
  • Guide the designers for the preparation of Instrumentation drawings and deliverables
  • Prepare and check all Instrument drawings / documents and ensure that the quality of design and drawings produced for enquiry and fabrication purposes is of satisfactory standard
  • Attend coordination meetings and engineering review meetings with supplier as required
  • Assist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents
  • Review and approve supplier documents for Instrumentation
  • Ensure effective & efficient Inter-discipline coordination including coordination with client engineer
  • Review instrument aspects of package unit supplier’s drawings
  • Skills / Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering from an accredited university with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the offshore / onshore Oil and Gas / Petrochemical and Marine industry
  • Must have at least three years of experience in similar position for international major Oil and Gas / Petrochemical / Marine projects including minimum three years in ENGINEER’s / CONTRACTOR's organization
