JOB DESCRIPTION: Locate suitable replacement parts for obsolete components found in all RSADF weapon systems and assist procurement personnel in locating suppliers using telephone, fax and internet. Resolving technical problems reported by users in operation and repair of weapon systems. Analyze system and component failures and recommend solutions to reduce cost and downtime. Generating drawings (assembly, schematic, parts list) to define system changes and new components required as a result of obsolete part replacement. Generate comprehensive technical reports on various topics as requested. Generate problem status reports using statistical analysis, photographs, charts and graphs. Determine disposition – repair or scrap – of replaceable electronic and electrical items returned to the depot based on cost, quantity in stock, ability to repair, etc. Design, develop and document new equipment design and modifications to existing weapon systems. Make drawings and specifications of items so they can be procured or manufactured locally. Generate documentation and repair procedures for assemblies that do not have them. REQUIRED EXPERIENCES: Candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Candidate must have experience in state-of-the-art military mechanical design. Candidate must have experience performing statistical, failure and cost analysis. Candidate must be proficient and productive using desktop computers with job related software to design, make drawings, generate reports and complete studies. Candidate must have working knowledge and experience with communications equipment (voice radio) and power generating equipment (generators). REQUIRED EDUCATION
Provide technical expertise and advice concerning all weapon systems covered under the currently approved TAA. These weapon systems involve a wide range of electronic and electrical disciplines: digital, analog, radio, microwave, radar, communications (HF, VHF, and UHF), automotive, data link, power generators and many others.
Specific duties include:
: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. Must have completed the Patriot Air Defense Officer Course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Military or the Patriot System Contractor.
