Project Engineer - Telecommunication Facilities (Rooftop)

Mission

The Rooftop Project Engineer is intimately familiar with and has experience in projects involving modifications to and installation of telecommunication facilities and related structures inside buildings and on rooftops. Taking advantage of the available mentorship and resources, the incumbent will demonstrate resourcefulness in successfully executing assigned mandates in compliance with the standards of excellence required by CIMA+.

Responsibilities

  • Design or validate standard structural elements for rooftop facilities: Supports for antennas and shelters, anchors, tripods, etc.;
  • Revise engineering drawings and specifications and assure the quality of deliverables in compliance with established budgets and timelines;
  • Take part in internal and construction site start-up meetings with the client, and conduct surveys for telecommunication projects inside buildings and on rooftops;
  • Establish rooftop installation requirements in terms of engineering and deliverables for various clients;
  • Act as Technical Coordinator with the client;
  • Identify and research any information required for executing projects;
  • Plan and supervise the implementation and coordination of the various disciplines;
  • Manage requests for modifications that may arise during projects;
  • Manage sub-contractors (electrician, architect, etc.);
  • Take part in the introduction of innovative methods and tools, thus contributing to the optimization of processes.
  • Profile

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structures;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Familiarity with applicable standards (CSA S37, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, CNB, etc.);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rooftop work and telecommunication facilities ;
  • Familiarity with the principles of electricity and grounding is an asset;
  • Knowledge of architecture and AutoCAD is an asset;
  • Familiarity with the structure of telecommunication towers and/or certification in working at height is an asset.
