Project Manager - Bridges and Civil Works

Mission

Are you a Project Manager with experience in structural design or rehabilitation who is looking for new challenges? CIMA+ undertakes a wide-range of exciting, large-scale federal, provincial and heritage projects. Take advantage of this opportunity to tackle challenges and projects of all types, working with a Regional Leader who is well respected by clients.

Reporting to the Lead Partner within a horizontal management structure, the Project Manager will be responsible for projects in the National Capital Region Working in collaboration with the project team, the incumbent will be called upon to oversee the full execution of projects and develop and maintain strong business relationships with our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Determine needs related to project
  • Actively participate in project management, design and detailed engineering
  • Supervise the team assigned to projects
  • Perform studies or write technical reports
  • Evaluate construction costs
  • Perform inspection and structural evaluations
  • Occasional site supervision and contract administration
  • Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with a major in Structure or a recognized equivalent
  • Member of OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec)
  • Member of PEO - Professional Engineers Ontario (asset)
  • More than 8 years of experience in bridges, civil works or dams
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Training on construction site safety
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Strong command of French language (oral and written)
  • mastery of the English language (asset)
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (asset)
  • Strong knowledge of SAP (asset)
  • Sound knowledge of design standards (NBC and S6) (asset)
  • Knowledge of MTQ/MTO standards (asset)

CIMA+ handles the design and supervision components of major repair projects for interprovincial bridges in the National Capital region. We are also responsible for numerous projects involving the design, supervision and inspection of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and tunnels under the management of the Ministère des Transports du Québec, the Ville de Gatineau, the federal government and clients in the parapublic and private sectors.

    The CIMA+ team in Gatineau-Ottawa has earned an enviable reputation across Canada for its contribution to the success of many highly specialized projects, including assessing the earthquake and explosion resistance of the East Block of the Canadian Parliament Buildings, assessing the surge tanks for the Masson hydroelectric generating station, repairing the Alexandra Bridge and rehabilitating the garage in the Valour building, among others.
