We have an immediate opportunity for a unique position as a Project Manager / Intermediate Field Supervisor (Site Investigation & Remediation) to manage the contaminated sites component of a large pipeline construction project in the Lower Mainland. As a key member of the team, you will also work with senior management to help determine the project scope and design. This relatively autonomous position will include providing technical direction and guidance as well as identifying value-added opportunities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance and review on project deliverables including management of staff, budgeting, scheduling, and health and safety.
Developing work plans and budgets for site investigations, remediations, and construction support activities
Executing and/or coordinating the execution of the activities listed above
Reporting (to the client and/or regulator) of completed field programs or interim data memos that will shape remaining field programs
Provide staff mentorship and training
Work with leadership to continually assess the direction of the project
Collaborate across disciplines including Indoor Environments, Environmental Assessment disciplines, Geotechnical, Atmospheric Sciences, and Water Resources across Stantec Canada offices
Actively participate in promoting a strong health and safety culture in the team
When available, pursue and lead project efforts within the Site Investigation & Remediation team in British Columbia
Lead proposal development, including the development of work plans, scopes, and budgets
Participate in (when required) marketing and business development meetings
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Related experience, delivering outstanding technical solutions on projects, ideally within British Columbia
Strong client management and communication skills are essential
Strong affinity for teamwork; training/mentoring junior, intermediate and senior office and field staff is also essential for this position
Superior and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the various provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
Education and Experience
Bachelor or Master's in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or Engineering
Minimum of six (7) years of directly applicable experience as an Environmental Professional with experience in contaminated sites investigation
Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., etc.) is required
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
