As the Maintenance/Process Improvement Specialist you will be required to maintain all systems, processes and equipment; in order to continually increase its reliability and availability. You'll be responsible for resolving electromechanical issues and have strong process improvement skills or willing to develop them.
Some primary responsibilities and essential job functions include: Properly inspect and maintain shop equipment, in accordance with provincial regulations. Follows a strict preventive maintenance schedule to lessen exposure to downtime related repairs and maintenance. Develop control strategies for sustaining all improvement projects. Initiate, lead & participate in safety, quality, cost & process improvement projects.
Implementation of new equipment and operating procedures Ability and willingness to frequently travel within Canada and the U.S. Responsible for reducing product and process variation through the use of Six Sigma / statistical tools and the implementation or improvement of existing procedures and process controls is an asset. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electromechanical or Maintenance Technologies preferred 3+ years manufacturing environment experience in maintenance and/or process improvement role Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (Including AC and DC Drives, Mechanical Drives, PLCs, and motor controls Licensed Industrial Millwright preferred Previous experience with programmable controllers and microprocessors Working knowledge of methods and procedures used in performing evaluations on all electrical apparatus using VOM, amp meters, meggers, temperature gauges, etc. Possessing mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and ability is required Strong Project Management skills Physical ability to lift, bend and pull equipment up to 50 lbs. 25% travel required, mainly to our Montreal distribution center
