Parsons is the Project Consultant for the construction supervision of miscellaneous infrastructure / landscape projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Work scope comprises roads, infrastructure and Landscape.
The Resident Engineer (Material) will assist the Construction Director / Projects manager in review technical submittals (Material, Quality Plan, Test results, etc). Furthermore, to provide the support for the site team regarding material inspection and site quality and carry out the factory appraisal inspection.
Job Responsibilities Check material submissions and adequately process approvals. Assist in the development of testing procedures. Keep up-to-date with new appropriate materials. Review and approve of all submitted materials by the contractor. Ensure compliance of used materials with the project’s specifications. Participate in construction quality control. Supervise, participate and direct sampling and testing of all materials according to the contract and the specs. Analyse the test results on time and recommend action to the CM. Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions. Track and review the site testing and certificates of compliance. Ensure very close and precise coordination of his team activities with the other construction supervision staff. Follow up and verify the implementation of corrective actions. Coordinate the review and approval of speciality and other high-profile materials. Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the project requirements and approvals, as directed by CM.
Qualification/Experience/Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering and minimum ten (12) years post graduate experience in material quality of major Roads, Infrastructure & Landscape projects of complex nature. Minimum of 5 years UAE experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control. Should be able to review and justify the material submissions analyse laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s Specifications. Must have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships. Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software. Must be fluent in English written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Robust assessment and problem-solving skills Good knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project Must be available in UAE.
