We are looking to recruit a Senior Civils Engineer-Rail(CRE Experience preferable but not essential) to design lineside civils and structures on behalf of our client based in the North West.
The location is flexible to suit their own personal needs, however the candidate will be required to travel to various locations as part of their role to meet the requirements of the projects.
Within the role you will lead and direct allocated design resources in the delivery of conceptual and detailed civil and structural engineering design in which you will undertake the production of plans / drawings / documentation, planning and organizing activities and resources to meet programme deadlines and budgets.
Within the position you will carry out Civil designs and checks for Engineering schemes ensuring full compliance with current British and/or Eurocode and working to the relevant Network Rail standards.
Job Role Includes:
·Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing civil designs
·Perform site visit/surveys to prepare engineering drawing.
·Undertaking concept design, feasibility studies, preliminary design, and detailed designs
·Design delivery of new structures, lineside civils including strengthening schemes, earthworks, and drainage schemes.
·Coordinating and ensuring the production of specification and drawings.
·Producing technical reports.
·Contribute to work winning and preparation of bid documents
·Proficiency in report and specification writing, calculations, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and developing designs from first principles. Experience of working in the BIM environment (REVIT) will be beneficial; however not essential.
·Support construction of the design
Furthermore, you will:
·Be a Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer (C.Eng) and be experienced in the Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) role
·Must have experience of designing all types of structures in the rail sector in the UK
·Will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
·Must possess strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current design standards
·Be able to communicate / liaise effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors
·Have the ability to provide technical leadership with the ability to coach, lead, manage and develop a team
You must be familiar with all of the above and hold a current/valid PTS for this role.
