    Pinchin’s Mississauga office iscurrently recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to support ourGeotechnical Engineering Group in the GTA and Southern Ontario.

    The Geotechnical Engineering Group atPinchin is relatively new and has been added to our service offering to provideour current and potential clientele with the highest quality of diversifiedgeoscience engineering to meet today’s demanding market. As a result, careeradvancement is based on your success at the company, but is unlimited.

    The ideal candidate for this dynamic andchallenging role should be capable of the following:

    Leadership:

  • Mentoring,training and supervising of junior field staff
  • Ensuringassigned employees are trained in and maintain company procedures, health &safety protocols, and programs
  • Reviewingwritten work of technical staff and providing feedback and guidance when needed
  • Project Management:

  • Scheduling assessments andmeetings with clients/contractors
  • Assigning work to field staffas appropriate depending on workloads and in conjunction with the OperationsManager
  • Preparing contract documents, proposals, and reports
  • Providing clients with advice on appropriateregulations and guidelines
  • Technical Engineering Duties:

  • Geotechnicalengineering evaluations for but not limited to the following:Soiland bedrock engineering design parameters;Shallowand deep foundation design;Slopestability analysis;Seepageanalysis;ErosionControl;EarthRetention Systems;Excavation,dewatering and shoring; andPavementstructure performance investigation and design
  • Coordinate and carry out surface and subsurface siteinvestigations, including borehole logging, sampling of soil and rock andgeological mapping
  • Providegeotechnical engineering knowledge on projects, such as site investigations,analysis, design and construction inspections
  • Financial Performance

  • Reviewinvoices and provide instructions to the accounting department to generatefinal invoices in a timely manner
  • Helpadministrative staff with accounts receivables as required
  • Preparecost estimates for potential clients and meet or exceed allocated budgets
  • BusinessDevelopment/Client Management

  • Perform direct marketing anddeveloping work for new and existing clients
  • Participate in Pinchin marketing initiatives
  • Meet with clients to determine project requirements
  • Qualifications:

  • Excellentleadership and business development skills
  • Universitydegree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree andexperience
  • 10+ years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering role
  • AProfessional Engineering Designation in the Province of Ontario or be eligiblefor registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as geotechnicalengineering software (slope stability, seepage, finite element programs, etc.)
  • Ableto work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnicalsupport may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediationand Building Sciences
  • Priorexperience in consulting engineering or construction is considered an asset
  • Theability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff,clients and managers
  • Excellenttechnical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports andletters for cliental
  • Candidates must be able to work well in a teamenvironment and possess strong communication skills which are essential to theposition. This position will require work related travel. Therefore, avalid driver’s license insurance & personal vehicle is required(work-related travel expenses will be compensated). The ideal candidate will have a significantinfluence on the future growth of the Geotechnical Engineering Group andPinchin in general.
