Our Test Development group designs software and hardware testing frameworks to ensure product functionality. Our team is responsible for developing robust and efficient test platforms to validate a wide and varied product portfolio.
Reporting to the Technology Manager, the Electronics Test Engineer is responsible for design, development and deployment of automated test frameworks and systems for development and first article testing. The successful candidate will be exposed to our entire industry leading system portfolio and will be challenged to develop test systems and frameworks used in the qualification of embedded, desktop, and cloud hardware and software systems. Key Role Responsibilities Implementing software test automation tools, creating new test tools and frameworks based on product requirements Designing and implementing software applications using National Instruments LabVIEW for control and monitoring of automated test systems Working with third party cross functional (hardware and mechanical) teams to ensure system components are integrated and functional Participating in requirements analysis, specification development and document reviews at every stage of development Developing test strategies and system design based on product and test requirements Writing test plans and test procedures to perform product and system level testing Supporting manufacturing lines to ensure product availability, yield, and throughput Development of test automation to support SWQA testing. Developing test automation for automating first article, pre-production and production unit testing. support third party vendors with test system development for manufacturing lines.
Qualifications and Experience Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience. Two to five years related hands on software test development experience designing control and monitoring software for electromechanical test systems using National Instruments LabVIEW Two to five years related hands on experience developing programmatic solutions for test automation in a scripting language (e.g. Python or Ruby). Experience with designing manual and automated test plans to meet product or system requirements. Working understanding of mechanical systems as they relate to test system development is an asset Software development experience in C++ or C# would be an asset. Experience with Bamboo, GitLab and JIRA would be an asset. Excellent communication, time management and multi-tasking skills for working on multiple projects that require being detailed orientated.
