ISR is one of the most innovative division in Thales, combining advanced engineering techniques with years of industry experience to harness and deliver manned and unmanned airborne surveillance systems.We are a leader in sensors, communications, mission systems and in the fast-growing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) market; we are delivering Europe's largest UAS programme, Watchkeeper, to the British Army.Mechanical Design Engineering in the ISR Hardware Team provides diverse skills, knowledge, expertise and experience in the mechanical design of multiple platform environments from submarines to aircraft. This role will require the designer to operate within multi-functional project/product teams. It will involve the design of complex, high performance sub-systems to agreed timescales. The position requires the use of our 3D CAD platform, CREO and will see you have the responsibility for the generation of manufacturing data for in-house design Military and Commercial electronic equipment to meet the operational requirements of airborne, seaborne, submarine and land based products.Key TasksGeneration of 3D CAD layouts and generation of manufacturing dataSupport the project engineering team - liaise with, and support other disciplines.Report on progress and estimating tasksComply with local and company processes and procedures (supported by the Thales Engineering team)Implementing change to existing manufacturing data (drawings and CAD files)Controlling the configuration of designed partsExperience Required:CREO Experience is Essential, we required the successful individual to be full proficient in CREOGenerate Assembly and detail drawings and have experience in drawing free manufacture - machining parts direct from 3D CAD files for low volume production.Configuration control within the 3D CAD environment - PDMLink and external product data management tools, eg TeamCenter.Working knowledge of military standards eg MoD and MIL would be high advantageousWhat we can offer:We're committed to giving you opportunities to be your best.
